Everyone is aware of what not to flush down the toilet. Surprisingly, not everybody knows what seemingly safe items also do not belong in your commode.
It is time to take our responsibility to use our toilets as it is originally intended and what it is for designed to use. Doing so has lots of implications far beyond the clogged toilet. Here are the 8 things that you must not flush down the toilet bowl.

- Kitty litter - lots of manufacturers say that their kitty litter has been flushable, but still the plumbing services are not recommended flushing it down your toilet. Now, the water-saving toilets are using about 1.6 gallon of water in every flush that is not sufficient water to maintain the kitty litter stepping plus, it even adds more “stuff” where the water purification plants needed to remove.
- Hair - the hair will never be dissolved in water. It floats and then easily gets caught their way out your toilet, snagging anything that comes out the way. Do not clean the brush and toss that hair in that commode. And when you are wearing hair weaves and a fall in the toilet bowl, fish that lockout and/or you will face bigger repair bill.
- Flushable sanitary wipes and baby wipes - no matter what is on its label, the “flushable” wipes don’t disintegrate in the water as rapidly as the toilet tissue does. You should test it by yourself. Place the flushable wipes and the pieces of toilet papers in the water for one hour. You will see that a toilet paper quickly tears apart while a wipe stays intact. It only means that it may lodge in the sewer pipes and then clog the toilet.
- Dried poops coming from the litter box - the toilets are styled for water-soluble wastes. When cat poop stays in a litter, it will become dehydrated and hard as rock. The “petrified poops” will get lodged at the labyrinth of pipe exiting the toilet area and causes the clog. So, from then on, bag up the litter — poop and then all — and then dispose it in your garbage.
- Dental floss - unwaxed or waxed, the dental floss became a real seine net catching every sort of debris, sewer pipes and clogging toilets. When the septic systems are involved, the dental floss winds about the moving parts and then burns out the motors.
- Condoms - the condoms can clog septic tanks and the toilets. Throw them inside a wastebasket.
- Cigarette butts - the cigarette butt belongs in your trash and not in your toilet. They will clog your toilet and wreak the havoc with the septic tank — particularly plastic-tipped smokes or the filtered one.
- Bleach - this had been a really harsh chemical which doesn’t belong in the sewerage lines or the septic systems. “A toilet bowl does not need to be cleared with an industrial cleaner or bleach. It had the glazed finish, and so just swishes this with the toilet brush in cleaning it. When you want to utilize something stronger, then, try white distilled vinegar. The toilet bowl stains were caused by those minerals in your water and this isn’t from human waste.
